Legendary game show host Robert William Barker, more commonly known as Bob Barker, sadly passed away on Saturday of natural causes. He was 99.
CBS said in a statement about the loss:
Barker began his career in radio in the 1940s and made his way to national television when he hosted long-running gameshow Truth Or Consequences from 1956 until 1975. His stardom rose when he took the role of hosting iconic game show The Price Is Right in 1972, which became a massive success and is still going strong today. Barker hosted until 2007 when Drew Carey took over, marking 35 incredible years with the job.
Barker was loved for his charismatic personality, charming sense of humor, smooching audience members, his animal rights activism, and rocking his gray hair instead of trying to cover it up with color. 99 years of being a legend! You will be so missed. KLOS sends our love to Bob’s family, friends, and loved ones.
