900,000 votes were placed, but only five could be declared winners of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Fan Vote. Of the 17 nominees, the top choices for fans were Duran Duran (934,880 votes), Eminem (684,257 votes), Pat Benatar (631,299 votes), Eurythmics (442,271 votes), and Dolly Parton (393,796 votes).

The five artists will be placed on a fan vote alongside other ballots to help the committee determine the final winners, who will be announced later this month.

Dolly Parton originally announced she would not accept the honor had she been chosen as she did not feel she was technically a “rock” artist. However, Parton has recently changed her mind and will “accept gracefully” if inducted because of her fans’ support.

Judas Priest came in at a close sixth place with 365,999 votes. Other nominees include Carly Simon, Lionel Richie, Devo, Kate Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Dionne Warwick, A Tribe Called Quest, New York Dolls, Beck, MC5, and Fela Kuti.
