November 17th 1971, exactly 50 years ago from today, English rock band Faces released their third album A Nod Is As Good As a Wink… to a Blind Horse. The iconic record became their most successful and established the sound that defined the band.
The record features the hard-driven hit Stay With Me, written by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, bassist Ronnie Lane’s sweet ballad Debris, and other rockers most of which don’t even have a chorus. Faces was shifting where rock ‘n’ roll could go with A Nod Is As Good As A Wink.
