Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson recently denied a story about an incident with Jimmy Page that affected their joint 2000 tour.

The rumor started from former Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman’s 2019 book, Hard to Handle: The Life and Death of the Black Crowes. Gorman claimed that Page offered to collaborate with the band on their next record, but that Robinson had turned the offer down. According to Gorman, Page had felt insulted enough to call the band’s manager and say, “I’m driving to Connecticut, and I’m going to kill Rich in his home.”

In response, Robinson recently did an interview with Classic Rock, saying that Gorman’s story was “absolutely not true. I remember having conversations with Jimmy, telling him, ‘Hey, if you ever wanted to make a record or do anything, I would love to help in any way I can.’ Jimmy’s a brilliant musician, a brilliant person. I loved playing with him.”
