An airplane has landed and burst into flames on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway north of MacArthur Boulevard, near John Wayne Airport, in the Irvine area, according to the California Highway Patrol. The freeway has
been closed in both directions. It is unclear if anyone was injured.
