Stewart Copeland, best known as the drummer for The Police, joined Matt Pinfield for this episode of New & Approved!
Copeland discusses growing up in both America and the UK and how his passion for music developed. This eventually leads to the formation of The Police and the earliest days of the iconic English band. The first time Sting and Copeland jammed together is when the drummer knew there was something special about this band.
We also learn about Copeland’s debut solo album “Klark Kent,” which at the time was released as his secret identity. Copeland also discusses other solo projects and his own label Illegal Records. Copeland recently released a new album titled “Police Deranged for Orchestra,” which explores Police songs with a new lens. You can check out the entire album here: https://lnk.to/PDFO
