Last night, the 25th anniversary of the animated comedy series South Park was celebrated with an epic concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado.
One of the most memorable moments occurred right after an animated scene was shown depicting cartoon versions of Rush bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson in a discussion of performing at the anniversary show. Soon after the animated sketch, the real-life 3D versions of the musicians appeared on stage and shocked the ecstatic audience.
Lee and Lifeson joined in with Primus to perform one of Rush’s biggest hits Closer To The Heart along with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It’s pretty obvious this was quite a legendary jam.
