The mystery of Ziggy Stardust is finally being explored in the new docufilm Moonage Daydream about the whimsical life of David Bowie. The film will be premiering today at the Cannes Film Festival’s Midnight Screenings and is expected to hit theaters in September. But now we can get a glimpse with the new trailer which you can watch below.
Brett Morgen, The film’s director and writer, has spent the past four years producing Moonage Day Dream, digging through rare and never-before-seen footage of Bowie, and choosing the best findings that would represent all the musician stood for. This is the first film that has been approved by the Bowie Estate, who allowed Morgen to explore their collection of the Starman.
At CinemaCon 2022, Morgen said of the film “Bowie cannot be defined, he can be experienced. That is why we crafted Moonage Daydream to be a unique cinematic experience.”
