Last week Red Hot Chili Peppers announced they would perform a free concert at Amoeba Music in Hollywood. The exclusive concert for fans who purchased their latest album Unlimited Love took place in the middle of the day yesterday, and it rocked everybody’s lunch hour.
Fans began lining up many hours before the sun came out in hopes to get the best view. The intimate performance still felt huge because the Chili Peppers seemed to bring the same energy as they would to a stadium show. The band opened with These Are The Ways from the new record followed by their classic hit By The Way. They carried on into another new song from Unlimited Love called These Are The Ways and closed the short set with a cover of Black Flag’s Nervous Breakdown, which the Red Hot Chili Peppers have not performed live since 1998.
The small, but lively, audience begged for an encore after the band left the stage, but they are just going to have to wait to catch them this summer. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be coming to Los Angeles on July 31st to play at SoFi Stadium!
