Today legendary Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil turns 61! Neil has been a part of the band since its formation in 1981, although he departed for a short while in the early ’90s only to return again in 1996. To celebrate Neil’s birthday, here are a few fun facts you might not have known about the rockstar:
- You can visit Vince Neil’s Tatuado in Las Vegas for food, drinks, and karaoke.
- In 1989, Neil had a small part in the film Police Academy 6: City Under Siege. However, the scene didn’t make the final cut.
- Vince Neil’s Daughter Skylar Neil passed away of cancer as the age of 4 on August 15th, 1995. In her honor, he founded the Skylar Neil Memorial Fund to raise awareness and funds for children’s illnesses.
- Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx’s clothing lines (Outlaw and Bad Bones) were sold for a time at the store “S’Crue” on Melrose in Los Angeles. Mötley Crüe opened the shop in 1998, but it closed in January 1999 when it was moved online.
- Neil worried that Motley Crue biopic The Dirt wouldn’t meet his expectations, but he was pleasantly surprised that it turned out even better than he hoped.
