David Lee Roth Admits Eddie Van Halen Is ‘Not Doing Well’

David Lee Roth said his bandmate Eddie Van Halen is “not doing well.”

In a new interview with Las Vegas Review-Journal, Roth revealed that Eddie is not in a good place. “Ed’s not doing well, and singing and dancing is a perishable skill,” he said. “If you have the capacity, it’s something that has to be used routinely, if not for the thrill of it and the magic of creating with other incandescent spirits.”

The last time Van Halen toured together was in 2015. When the band failed to make further appearances, speculation concerning the guitarist’s health came to light. Last year, Roth refused to discuss Eddie, saying he had “his own story to tell.”
