The Cult’s Ian Astbury recently told the story of how the tension between Dave Grohl and the band came to an end.
According to Astbury, the Foo Fighters frontman had approached him a few years ago at a festival where both bands were playing. Grohl had apparently called for a peace offering.
“[He] walked into our dressing room, walked straight up to me and said, “Hi, I’m David Grohl,” Astbury told Vanyaland in a new interview. “It’s really nice to meet you. Because I’m not sure what happened in the past, but hopefully we can put all that behind us, and I just want to say great to meet you.”
The bad blood between the two had started in 2001 when Astbury read a comment by Grohl saying The Cult’s show made him want to put a gun to his head.
