Johnny Rotten says the recently announced Sex Pistols biopic is “unauthorized, unofficial, and not endorsed.”
Fan interest circulated after a Sex Pistols film was announced by filmmaker Ayesha Plunkett. Plunkett explained that she wanted to take on the project after the success of Bohemian Rhapsody. The film was set to focus on the band’s manager Malcolm McLaren and his significant other, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.
However, vocalist Rotten expressed his disapproval in the tweet below.
You may have seen recent reports of a Sex Pistols biopic. For the avoidance of doubt this film would be unauthorised, unofficial, and not endorsed by Sex Pistols.
